This tool combines basic safety and function checks with advanced performance analysis. It confirms that a photovoltaic (PV) system has been installed safely and is producing the expected amount of power.
This single device brings together many different electrical testing functions. It also lets you measure and analyze the current-voltage (I‑V) characteristics of individual solar panels and strings of panels.
This tester works with PV systems that have up to 1500 volts DC and up to 30 amps. It is commonly used during both the initial setup and ongoing maintenance of solar systems.

Insulation resistance
The tester applies a high DC voltage (typically 500V, 1000V, or 1500V) between the PV conductors

Continuity and Protective Earth Testing
The tester sends a small current through the grounding (earth) wires to measure the resistance of the
connection from the PV array frame all the way back to the main grounding point.
PV String Polarity Verification
A simple but critical check to confirm that the positive and negative DC cables from the PV array are connected
to the correct terminals of the inverter/combiner box.
